reading the bible daily with the church
Ephesians 1.15-23
St. Paul's prayer in this passage is familiar and intriguing. In it, he prays that we might have knowledge of God and our salvation; the hope to which we are called; the wealth of our inheritance; and the greatness of God's power. Wow! The modern lectionary followed by many churches in the West added the feast of Christ the King to specifically point both believers and non-believers . . .

Lord God, heavenly Father, You have created me and endowed me with all that I am or have as a pure gift of Your "fatherly, divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in me." You sustain me from day to day with the gifts of daily . . .

a Thanksgiving break
I'm taking a short sabbatical from blogging over the Thanksgiving break. It is time to unplug and be thankful. I shall take up writing again on the 26th. Until then...be thankful!
